The advice on this page has been updated following extended testing and feedback based on the final release of macOS Big Sur.
At the end of September 2020 we released our “5 Star” updates to all plugins. This brought additional functionality, but as importantly, it added Big Sur compatibility to the plugins themselves.
What Astute Graphics software is compatible with Big Sur?
All subscription software! The current Astute Manager (and all subsequent versions) are fully Big Sur compatible. This includes all the subscription plugins deployed by the Astute Manager.
This means that if you are on the 12 month subscription, you are Big Sur compatible. Simply ensure you are using the latest Astute Manager to install the current plugins.
I'm not on the subscription, am I compatible with macOS Big Sur (11)?
Legacy plugins (those developed before the release of macOS Catalina) are not compatible. Therefore, non-subscription customers should avoid upgrading from Mojave (10.14) to Catalina or above (more information on this can be found here).
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?
For legacy customers who aren't on the subscription, the options are:
Remain with macOS 10.10 to 10.14 (for which the last plugins before the change to our licensing system were developed for) or if already upgraded, downgrade to macOS 10.14 and reinstall your legacy licenses if necessary.
Upgrade to the subscription.
