How to use the AG Color Select tool in Adobe Illustrator

AG Color Select is an Astute Graphics tool for Adobe Illustrator that allows users to pick up colors from art on the artboard. It can grab colors from live effects and transparency. It’s really easy to use and is a great companion to the native Eyedropper tool.

How to use:

• AG Color Select Tool is part of the SubScribe plugin and can be found in the Advanced Toolbar (Window > Toolbars > Advanced).

• The color picker preview window shows you the detected color under the cursor.

• Simply click to select the desired color.

Keypresses available:

• Shift: To retain the transparency.

• Option/Alt: Save the selected color directly to a swatch.

• Shift + Option/Alt: Save to global swatch.
