Important operating system compatibility news 2021

2 minute read

A number of operating system changes with implications for Astute Graphics' service compatibility are getting closer. Please be sure to check these details to avoid disruption to using Astute Graphics plugin tools and functions in Adobe Illustrator.

macOS 12 “Monterey” and Windows 11 support

Both Apple and Microsoft are expected to release their next major operating systems Q4 2021.

If the Adobe Illustrator and Astute Graphics plugins form an essential part of your workflow, we strongly recommend postponing updating to the latest major operating system until we can fully confirm compatibility.

Naturally, we are already testing our tools and service on the latest public beta versions of these operating systems. However, Astute Graphics is also reliant on Adobe’s own updates for these releases, and we will have to await the final, official compatible public release of Adobe Illustrator before final testing and QA can take place.

Astute Graphics will confirm compatibility on social platforms, our website and via the Astute Manager at the earliest opportunity.

Ending support for macOS 10.10

Astute Graphics will be dropping support for macOS 10.10 “Yosemite” with the release of the Astute Manager v3, which is expected to be available no sooner than end October 2021. Released in 2014, it no longer supports the technologies required to deploy a safe a secure system required in future updates.

With the release of Astute Manager v3, the current v2 will be deprecated and will no longer function. This means that it will no longer be possible to actively license the plugins.

We recommend users upgrade to at least macOS 10.11 or higher.
